Meet Our Staff
Paul C. Kappell -- Optometrist
Dr. Kappell joined our team at Wineland Family Eyecare April 13, 2015. He is a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry where he earned his Bachelor of Vision Science in 2006, and his Doctorate of Optometry in 2008.
Dr. Kappell is licensed to fit all types of contact lenses, prescribe glasses, diagnose and treat ocular diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration Cataracts and many other forms of ocular disease or disorders, as well as monitor potential ocular health issues associated with systemic diseases such as Diabetes and high blood pressure. He also works closely with area Ophthalmologists so he can co-manage both cataract and Lasik surgeries.
Deana R. --- Certified Paraoptometric Technician - Office Manager
Deana has been a part of the eyecare industry for sixteen years. She earned her CPOT certification in 2005 through the American Optometric Association's Commission on Paraoptometric Certification.
Deana joined Wineland Family Eyecare in July of 2012 as an assistant and insurance billing specialist and in 2014 became the office manager. Though Deana's job includes anything from insurance billing to frame purchasing, she enjoys the technical aspect the most. On patient days, you will find her working with patients to collect patient information , perform exam work-ups or conduct specialty testing such as OCTs, Visual Fields, or Digital Photography.
Jill B. -- ABO Certified Optician
Jill has been in the eye care industry since 2000, and is certified as an Optician through the American Board of Opticianry.
Jill joined Wineland Family Eyecare in April of 2016 as a dispensing optician and front desk receptionist after relocating to Sheboygan from Lacrosse, WI. Jill's job includes anything from front desk receptionist to frame purchasing and lab ordering, but what she enjoys most is working with patients and recommending the best frame and lens options to suit their everyday needs and lifestyle.
OUR TECHNICAL STAFF
Nichole M. Cruz -- Optometrist
Dr. Cruz joined Wineland Family Eyecare as an associate to Dr. Steve Wineland in 2009 and purchased the practice at his retirement in 2014. She is a graduate of Southern California School of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry in May, 2000. Dr. Cruz started her first practice in Random Lake in 2007 and continues to provide care to patients at both the Sheboygan location and her Random Lake location.
Dr. Cruz is passionate about children's vision and is a participating provider for the "Sight For Students" and " Infant-see" Programs.
